FC 27 has confirmed a major rebalance of the Archetype progression system in The Grounds and Clubs. Attribute Point (AP) costs are being adjusted, and every existing Pro build will be reset. The update goes live by Thursday, October 22.
The good news is that nothing you've earned is lost. Your Archetype levels stay the same, and so does your total AP. The difference is that your current AP allocations are wiped, so you'll need to redistribute your points from scratch.
The fix aims to give each Archetype a clearer identity and a fairer progression curve. Archetype Specializations also change: Attacking Positioning is no longer required, which gives you more freedom when spending points.
Anyone who has to reallocate a Pro will receive 5,000 Club Coins and a 1.75x Archetype XP (AXP) multiplier lasting six matches. The reward is only for affected players, not the whole player base. It softens the rebuild, but it is small next to the long-term cost of building several Pros, so smart players treat FC 27 coins as a resource to plan around rather than a one-off bonus.
The rebalance touches 13 Archetypes across four positional groups:
- Goalkeepers: Shot Stopper and Sweeper Keeper
- Defenders: Progressor, Boss and Marauder
- Midfielders: Disruptor, Recycler, Maestro and Creator
- Attackers: Spark, Magician, Finisher and Target
Audit before you spend. Check the new costs for your Archetype and note which of your priority attributes became more expensive.Lead with your Archetype's strengths. Cheaper attributes are the intended path, so build around them first.
Use the AXP boost on purpose. Save your 1.75x multiplier for matches you are confident you can play well, since it only covers six games.Don't overcommit early. Keep some AP flexible until you see how the new balance plays out in matches.
A reset changes more than your points. Switching Pros, testing builds, and chasing the squad upgrades that support them all cost coins. Players who want to experiment without waiting on slow match income often decide to buy FC 27 coins and put the savings toward upgrades. That is the main practical benefit: more time spent testing builds and less time grinding for currency.
The benefits go beyond speed. When you buy FUT 27 coins, you can react to the new balance quickly instead of waiting a week to afford the right setup. If a Finisher or Maestro build suddenly becomes the strongest option, being first to adapt gives you an edge in Clubs and The Grounds. Early in a cycle, the market and meta shift fast. Players who buy FUT 27 coins before a reset or promotion often have more flexibility than those relying only on match rewards.
